Idole Indienne: Celebrating Music and Language at La Plume Française

On the evening of December 24, 2025, the halls of resonated with melody and charm. As a fitting close to the year, our institution hosted the grand finale of the French Language Singing Competition, "Idole Indienne". It was a memorable occasion that beautifully bridged the gap between language learning and artistic expression.
The event was a celebration of the Francophone spirit, bringing together students, faculty, and language enthusiasts to appreciate the musicality of the French language.
A Showcase of Talent
The highlight of the evening was, of course, the vocal performances. After a competitive selection process, four talented finalists took to the stage to vie for the top honors:
Siddhi Kailkar
Vaidehi Kelkar
Swarashree Naik
Prashant Uikey
Each participant displayed remarkable dedication, showcasing not only their vocal abilities but also their command of French pronunciation and emotion. It was a delight to witness our students stepping into the spotlight with such confidence and grace.
The Results
The competition was fierce, with every finalist delivering a commendable performance. However, two students particularly distinguished themselves in the eyes of the judges.
🏆 First Place: Vaidehi KelkarVaidehi captivated the audience and secured the top spot. She was awarded the official "Je Parle Français" T-Shirt—a badge of honor for her linguistic and musical achievement.

🥈 Second Place: Siddhi KailkarDelivering a poignant and skillful performance, Siddhi stood second. She was presented with a selected French book, a prize intended to further inspire her journey into French literature and culture.

Beyond the Melodies
The evening offered more than just the singing competition; it was a holistic cultural showcase.
The audience was treated to a delightful skit performed by the students, demonstrating that language fluency extends to theatrical expression and storytelling.
Siddhi Kailkar performed an elegant classical Indian dance that was highly appreciated by all!

Additionally, the group French song "Je ne veux pas travailler" brought a sense of unity to the room, creating a warm, communal atmosphere that defines the spirit of La Plume Française. The programme ended with a chorus song "Vive le Vent" (Christmas song)!
